I asked for a rain check for Starbucks coffee last month when it was on sale for $5.99 - a great price. This week I visited a Giant store way across town from my house, when I went to Walgreen's. This particular Giant store is near Ukrops grocery store, which has closed. So, this Giant store had a large ad posted -- Save $5 off a $50 purchase at Giant. The ad appeared in last Friday's Free Lance Star. By the time I found the ad it was 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, the day the coupon expired. So I gathered together some coupons I was saving to use at Giant, and Glen took me to the store.

I was able to combine the $5 off $50 purchase coupon with my Starbucks coffee raincheck, and some coupons I ordered from with the rain check and some coupons I ordered from Coupons by Dede for Starbucks and Ronzoni pasta to get a great price on our most expensive staple -- Starbucks House Blend coffee.
