This was my planned transaction. My goal was to be able to purchase enough merchandise to use my $5 off $25 purchase coupon to purchase milk & the balance after coupons on the Hershey syrup. The cashier asked me how many up rewards I was expecting to receive, and I told her $17. She counted & there were $12. I asked her about the $5 up reward for the Special K. She told me that the up reward was not for the cereal. We looked at the ad. The cereal is not specifically listed in the ad, "buy $15 Special K, get $5 up." She offered to give me a refund for the cereal. I received a generous refund for the cereal.

I have read that the up reward is indeed for the Special K cereal, but only certain flavors of the cereal are triggering the up reward to print. Rite Aid would probably have sent me the $5 up reward if I had called them. I was satisfied to receive the generous refund. You can read about another blogger's success with the Special K deal here. From my research, it looks like the Special K with red berries & the Special K with cinnamon and pecans are triggering the up reward to print.
