Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24

Recipe ~ Hamburger rolls in bread machine

Hamburger Buns

This recipe is adapted from the book Fleischmann's Yeast Bread Machine Favorites.  This has been a family favorite for years.

ingredients:

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 1/4 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons yeast
white of large egg
1 tablespoon water
sesame seeds or poppy seeds

directions:

Add 1/2 cup water, milk, egg, butter, salt, bread flour, sugar and yeast to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer.  Select dough/manual cycle.  When cycle is complete, remove dough from machine to a lightly floured surface.  If necessary, knead in enough flour to make dough easy to handle.  If dough is too elastic, cover and let rest 10 minutes before shaping.

Divide doughh into 9 equal pieces.  Form each piece into smooth ball.  Place on large greased baking sheet.  Flatten balls into four inch rounds; cover.  Let rise in warm draft free place until doubled in size, 20 to 30 mnutes.  Lightly beat egg white and 1 tablespoon water.  Brush on buns.  Sprinkle with sesame seed or poppy seeds.  Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until done.  Makes 9 buns.
