I completed transaction 3 at customer service. The cashier from the first & second transactions pointed out that I could use the coupons of the packages for the free queso. Con Agra Deal at Shoppers Food Warehouse December 9 - 15

Shoppers Food Warehouse has placed an ad online for special in store savings. Shoppers has advertised that when you purchase $25 of participating products, you will receive a coupon for $10 off your next shopping trip. Receiving the $10 back on your next shopping trip is the equivalent of 40% savings, since you will have $10 worth of Shoppers Store Money in your pocket. You will just need to pay attention to the date that the coupon expires, and use it before that date to buy something you need. The dates for thi s offer are from 12/09/10 to 12/15/10.

Several items are priced very competitively. Hunts ketchup is on sale 4 for $5, or, $1.25 each. So, if you were to purchase 20 bottles of Hunts ketchup, you would pay 20 x $1.25, or, $25.

20 bottles of Hunts ketchup @ $1.25 each = $25
20 x $1.25 = $25

Then you would receive at checkout a coupon for $10 off your next shopping trip. This is $10 you may spend on anything in the store, so it is like being able to spend $10 again. If you subtract the $10 from your purchase price of $25, you get $15.

$25 - $10 (savings on your next order) = $15

That is like getting 20 bottles of ketchup for $15, or, like paying $.75 for a bottle of ketchup.

But that is more ketchup than I need.

But it gets better.

Shoppers doubles coupons up to $.99 every day. If we use coupons for the items we purchase, and then we get the $10 off our next order, our savings will really add up.

Shoppers has a limit of for identical manufacturer coupons per order. Sometimes I find that it is simpler to plan to use only four coupons from any one manufacturer.

But what about the coupon for $10 off your next order? Will it still print?

It has been my experience that using coupons does not prevent the coupon for $10 off your next order to print. Employees do not seem to know this.

Sometimes the coupons print, and sometimes they do not. I have been issued $10 gift cards on numerous occasions by customer service when coupons for promotions for this have not print. This takes time.

Here is what you need to know. In order for the coupon for $10 off your next shopping trip to print, a couple of things need to be set in order first. The coupon comes in the form of a slip printed at the conclusion of your order. The machine, manufactured by a company called Catalina, must have ink. It must be turned on. And it must be properly loaded with paper. Additionally, the items included in the promotion must be properly entered into the grocer's computer system. And you must purchase the exact items included in the promotion.

If your coupon does not print, it could be for any of these reasons.

Wednesday Shopping Plans

I am off to Shoppers Food Warehouse to pick up a few things. Here are the things I am planning to purchase:

Prego Spahgetti sauce is on sale 2 for $3. I normally keep my pantry "stocked" with 8 to 10 jars of spaghetti sauce, but we are down to only one jar. Besides that, we have invited the Young Adult Sunday school class to our home Sunday after church, and promised to feed them spaghetti.

A quick google search of the words "prego coupon" led me to "fabulouslyfrugal.com" where I found a link to print Prego coupons from "campbellskitchen.com" for $1 off 2 Prego Italian sacue. So I hope to get the Prego sauce for $.99 each.

The other thing on my short list is this deal: "Free 2 lbs. Dole bananas instantly when you buy two one-pound containers of Dole strawberries." And the strawberries are on sale 2 for $3.

Shoppers advertises, "Now every Wednesday you can shop the first day of this week's circular as well as the final day of last week's circular." Today will be the last day of the Prego sale, the first day of the Dole strawberry/banana sale.

The Shoppers ad said, "February 20 only, free Diet Dr. Pepper." Since I was making a trip to Shoppers, I returned some frozen vegetables I had purchased there. The green beans were damaged with lots of frost inside the package when I opened them, and I had purchased Steamers vegetables with a Rosemary sauce that we just didn't like. I returned the vegetables and exchanged them for the ones pictured.

I was wondering how the "free Dr. Pepper" deal would work out. While I was in the store, a lady asked me if I liked Diet Dr. Pepper. Then she gave me a coupon for a free Diet Dr. Pepper. This is a personal favorite.

I repeated my Powerade transaction at the Fredericksburg Shopper's Food Warehouse. After I left Shopper's, I stopped at CVS near the hospital in Fredericksburg and picked up a few more coupons from the tearpad. The coupon expiration date is 11/20 (tomorrow.) There were still plenty of coupons left at that location this afternoon.
